1. The two sizes

Every Kilnmere design comes on the same white ceramic mug with a C-shaped handle and the artwork printed around the body. You choose between two capacities:

2. Which one to pick

Go 11oz if the mug is for regular coffee, a standard drip-machine cup, or someone whose counter space is precious. It’s the size most people picture when they hear the word “mug,” which also makes it the safer gift when you’re not sure.

Go 15oz if the recipient refills before the first cup is done. Big-batch coffee drinkers, tea people who let a pot steep and then want all of it, cocoa-with-the-works types — the extra capacity means fewer trips to the kitchen. It’s also the one to pick if the mug doubles as a soup or oatmeal vessel at a desk.

3. Fit check before you order

The 15oz stands taller and wider than the 11oz, so two quick checks are worth thirty seconds. If it’s headed for a cupboard shelf with a low clearance or a single-serve coffee maker with a snug brew space, measure that gap against the biggest mug that currently fits there. And if it needs to slide into a car cup holder, know that mug handles and cup holders have a complicated relationship regardless of size — the handle sits proud of the ring.
