Payment Policy
What we accept, when the charge happens, and why your card number stays between you and the processor.

Checkout runs through PayPal. That gives you two doors into the same room: pay with your PayPal balance if you have an account, or use a major credit or debit card through guest checkout if you don’t — no account creation required. All prices on the site are in US dollars, and the total you see on the final checkout screen is the total that gets charged.
At the moment you place the order — not when it prints, not when it ships. Printed-to-order production starts from a confirmed payment, so the charge and the order confirmation email land at effectively the same time. If you cancel within the 24-hour modification window, the full amount goes back to your original payment method.
Not with us, and that’s by design. The payment step happens on PayPal‘s own systems; your card number travels between you and them, encrypted, and never touches our servers. We never see your card number. What we receive is a confirmation that payment cleared, plus the order details needed to print and ship your mug.
No charge, no order — a declined payment simply means nothing was created, so there’s nothing to cancel. The usual culprits, in order of frequency: a typo in the card number or expiry, a billing ZIP that doesn’t match the card, or a bank flagging an unfamiliar merchant. Re-enter the details carefully, and if it declines again, your bank’s fraud line can usually release it in one call. The cart holds your mugs while you sort it out.
Where state law requires it, sales tax is calculated from your shipping address and shown as its own line at checkout before you pay. Nothing is added after the fact.
If a charge from us looks wrong, talk to us before opening a dispute — a chargeback takes weeks to grind through the card networks, while ⟨EMAIL — SET BEFORE GO-LIVE⟩ answers within 1 business day and can refund a legitimate problem far faster. When a dispute is opened, we respond to the card issuer with the order records: what was ordered, where it shipped, and the tracking history. Honest mistakes get sorted; we do contest disputes on orders that were delivered as described.
